The Dufferin County Forest is a 1,050 hectare (2,596 acre) area divided into twelve tracts located throughout the County. The Forest is owned and managed by the County of Dufferin.  The largest single area is the Main Tract (607 hectares/1,501 acres) located in Mulmur Township north of the hamlet of Mansfield.

The Island Lake Family Trail formerly called the Hockley  Tract Trail is an easy trail through the Dufferin County Forest.  It is an example of lowland forest with some wetlands and the Island Lake Conservation area.

Description	This trail runs from Hockley Road to the north end of the Island Lake Conservation Area through the Hockley Tract of the Dufferin County Forest. The trail goes through a natural lowland forest.
