Who is Pia?

Pia’s Bakery was opened in November 2009. Pia Wiesen is a seasoned hobby chef and is currently writing a cookbook “The Cuisine of the Four Little Lands” which is about the food of the Saar/Alsace/Lorraine/Luxembourg region where she was born and raised. The local cuisine is a delicious blend of German and French. Not ignoring North American staple goods, this European influence is very noticeable when you taste our products. Some products are outright unique, using recipes from Pia’s grandmother.

Local Expertise

Add in business partners Jenn Brewster and Xel Campbell for the professional touch. Both are bakers and chefs for over 10 years and bring the necessary commercial experience to the kitchen. They are well known in Dufferin County for their outstanding talent and passion.

Our Environment

At Pia’s Bakery, we are conscious about healthy food and the environment. Our flour and vegetables are from certified organic farms and all other ingredients, whenever possible, are from organic and local suppliers. The store and processes are good for the environment, too: Our LED lights use only 10% power, our ovens and tankless water heater are gas powered. The dishwasher is high efficiency, using significantly less water and power. Detergents and Cleaners are certified bio-degradable; so are our take-out food containers. Our waste is minimal; almost everything goes in green or blue bins. And when you take your food home, it is in recycled paper bags, no plastic used around here.
