Good News Farm
Good News Farm is a first class dressage training facility nestled in scenic, lightly rolling land near the village of Erin.
It’s the little details that add up to a positive boarding and training experience, and recognizing that, we at Good News pride ourselves on top-notch horse care. The daily routine boasts long turn-out periods on thoroughly managed, lush pastures; daily blanketing as needed; thorough stall cleaning including scrubbing water and feed buckets; plenty of A1 hay and twice daily grain with all the supplements your equine partner needs. The stalls are large, airy and matted with soft stall flooring. The physical facilities are well maintained.
Good News Farm boasts a large, bright, indoor arena with mirrors and a heated viewing lounge. The outdoor school has a dressage ring in addition to schooling area. Hacking is through fields, woodlot, and a stream on the property. In the barn, there are central vacuum outlets throughout to help in grooming. As well, an outdoor and indoor wash racks are convenient to use. Parking is well lit and spacious.
Our resident trainer is Rebecca Schoenhardt. A former Ontario team Young Rider, her resume is extensive, but highlights include three time listing to the Canadian Dressage Team. After graduating her Bsc in Human Kinetics, Rebecca spent a year and a half training in Germany. She has trained with Canadian Team Rider Nancy MacLachlan since 1998. Rebecca Schoenhardt has brought three different horses to the FEI levels before her 30th birthday. She has brought students up to Fourth Level, with many championships at the Trillium and National levels. You can sample a taste of her teaching approach through reading of her training-tips in several publications including Equine Lifestyles magazine, or by scheduling an appointment to watch a training session.
Good News Farm/Rebecca Schoenhardt is available for regular training board; full training; ship-in lessons; and “boot camp” weeks for intensive training. Rebecca Schoenhardt offers clinics; on-site training and coaching; off farm coaching; horse appraisals; and services to help you sell or find your dressage partner.
We look forward to meeting you and answering your questions.
