Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club

The Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club is one of nine hiking clubs within the Bruce Trail Conservancy. We are responsible for a varied and beautiful section of trail from Cheltenham on the Credit River to Mono Centre north of Orangeville. Altogether we maintain about 70 km. of main trail and just over 50 km. of side trails.

The Caledon Hills section of the Bruce Trail starts close to the Badlands near Cheltenham, ascends slowly to the top of the escarpment before descending steeply down the Devils Pulpit to the Forks of the Credit. It then continues through the village of Brimstone and follows the Credit River past the well known Cataract Waterfall with its hydro station ruins. The trail then turns first south and then east to follow the edge of the escarpment. At Airport Road it turns north to pass through the Glen Haffy Conservation Area.

The final section takes the hiker into the beautiful Hockley Valley and along quiet country roads to the picturesque village of Mono Centre.

The club organizes group day hikes on most weekends as well as a mid week program. These events along with other items of interest are published in our quarterly newsletter, the Caledon Comment which is mailed to club members. An electronic newsletter, Cal E-News is available to members and non members. To subscribe go to calenews@caledonbrucetrail.org

We always welcome new members. A one year family Bruce Trail Conservancy membership is only $50.00 a year. Membership may be completed on line by visiting the main Bruce Trail Conservancy website at www.brucetrail.org.
