Would you like to spend the day in the beautiful village of Belfountain? Credit Valley Conservation needs volunteers to help out at the 16th Annual Belfountain Salamander Festival. Volunteer positions are suitable for all ages, and high school students, this is a great way to get some community service hours!
What is the Belfountain Salamander Festival?
The Belfountain Salamander Festival is a fun-filled day for the whole family. The day includes a local artisans’ and farmers’ market, a silent auction and bake sale, a barbeque, electrofishing demonstrations, a kid’s activity zone, and lots more!
Volunteers are needed to fill a variety of important roles throughout the day:
• Help setting up and taking down
• Event floaters who will help with a variety of things
• Running the Hot Cider Booth
• Assisting with Fly Fishing Tying (no experience necessary)
• Directing the public and answering questions

Event Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Volunteer Times: Volunteers are needed between 7:45am and 4:30pm. Depending on your volunteer role most positions are between 6 and 8 hours long.
Location: Belfountain Hamlet and Belfountain Conservation Area (Belfountain is in Caledon at the intersection of Mississauga Road and Forks of the Credit Road)

Come join The Caledon Bruce Trail Club and Credit Valley Conservation in a fun filled day of boardwalk construction.
No experience is necessary and all you need to bring is a hammer, a packed lunch, and a bottle of water.

Help with bulk mailings of approximately 5000 pieces -- stuffing envelopes, stamping and sealing envelopes, etc. etc. Usually we set up large tables with everything on it and the event becomes a social occasion with people talking and laughing while they work. Bulk mailings usually occur five to six times a year during a business day. Prerequisite: Sociable
Check Your Watershed Day Volunteer

Do you want to get outside and have fun exploring the Upper Credit River Watershed? Come take part in Credit Valley Conservation's Check Your Watershed Day!
Event Details:
What is “Check Your Watershed Day”?
Check Your Watershed Day is a 1-day stream survey where volunteers are out sampling the streams in their watershed.
In Stream Teams of 2-4, volunteers will check the temperatures of small streams at road crossings and take photos of each culvert they visit.
Volunteers will be trained on how to take the temperature readings and where to take their photos. You will also be provided health and safety training and all the maps and equipment needed to carry out the monitoring.
This information will help to build a better understanding of the health of the water in the upper watershed in a single point in time. It will also help to inform stewardship activities and management of the watershed.
What Happens on “Check Your Watershed Day”?
• Volunteers will meet at 1:00pm at Terra Cotta Conservation Area to receive training and equipment and to meet up with other members of your group
• Stream Teams will head to their assigned sites (approximately 4 to 6) to take temperature readings and photos. All sites are located at road crossings. Each team will need the use of a personal vehicle to access sites. Please note that mileage will not be covered by CVC.
• Stream Teams (or an individual on the team) will return data sheets and equipment to one of CVC’s Conservation Areas (Island Lake Conservation Area, Belfountain Conservation Area, Ken Whillans Resource Area, Terra Cotta Conservation Area)
• Stream Teams can expect to be finished around 4:00pm

Requirements of Volunteers:
• Volunteers will work in stream teams of 2 or 3. Volunteers may sign up independently and CVC will match you with a group. Volunteers can also sign up with some friends or family to create your own stream team.
• Each group will need:
o A car to access their assigned sites. Mileage (gas) will not be covered by CVC
o A digital camera and the ability to forward photos back to CVC
o A cell phone
• Each person must:
o Wear rubber boots or waders
o Wear long pants
o Have good mobility, as some access points may be steep and/or unstable
o Be 18 or older, unless accompanied by a parent
• Other useful, but not required, items:
o GPS
o First Aid Kit
o Back pack
o Water bottle

Headwaters Arts - April 1, 2010
Headwaters Arts is a not for profit organization that seeks to bring
together artists and supporters to promote the development, appreciation
and enjoyment of the arts in the Hills of Headwaters.
The Board of Headwaters Arts is seeking volunteer committee members for the Festival and Events Committee. Members of the Festival & Events Committee will attend meetings approximately once a month (often once every two months).
The minimum commitment required from one individual is between two to three hours a
month with a larger committment during the Festival time period in the fall.
Primary Responsibilities
- Attends Festival & Events Committee meetings as required
- Assists with minute writing
- As part of a team, will assist with planning and coordinating the logistics surrounding the Headwaters Arts Festival (Call for Entry, Jury Day, Call for Events and Open Studios, Photo Shoot, marketing, brochure distribution, Opening Night Gala, Kids' Fest, database administation)
- Attends Festival Events where able to lend support (ticket taking, sales desk, artwork in-take, room preparation, cutting labels, making name tags, putting up posters, etc.)
- Assists with other yearly events such as the spring Student Art Show and
Professional Development Workshops

Headwaters Arts - November 1, 2009
Headwaters Arts is a not for profit organization that seeks to bring together artists and supporters to promote the development, appreciation and enjoyment of the arts in the Hills of Headwaters.
The Board of Headwaters Arts is seeking volunteer help on a part-time basis. The Gallery Attendant will work in the Gallery at the Alton Mill. The minimum commitment required from one individual is two hours a month (assisting with at least one of the primary responsibilities below).
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining the Headwaters Arts Gallery and its exhibition schedule
- Attends Headwaters Arts Gallery Committee meetings as required
- Assists with gallery maintenance (mopping floor, cleaning windows, general tidying)
- Acts as gallery attendant and greets guests and processes sales during special events at the Alton Mill (i.e. Spring Awakenings)
- Assists when available at gallery openings and events with set-up/take down
- Assists with artwork intake on pick-up and drop-off days.
- Assists with creating labels and updating Artist Biography book

Headwaters Stable Tour Call for Volunteers
The Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association - September 18, 2009
The Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association is pleased to announce that the third annual Headwaters Stable Tour will take place the weekend of September 18th and 19th, 2010. The third annual event follows on the success of the 2009 Headwaters Stable Tour, despite the less than ideal weather. Thousands of visitors came from across the province to visit some of the finest stables and breeding facilities in the province. On Sunday visitors were able to visit with a variety of equine service suppliers and providers, and enjoyed demonstrations in the indoor and outdoor arenas, as part of the equine fair held at the Orangeville Fairgrounds.
