We have a lot to celebrate here in the Hills, not the least of which are those organizations and businesses that attract and service visitors to the Hills of Headwaters region.

Recipients of the Hills of Headwaters 2007 Tourism Awards are:

1. Tourism Ambassador of the Year: Kelly Myles, Caledon Country Club
Kelly is a keen advocate for tourism, supporting the Tourism Association's needs for special events through the donation of meeting space on an annual basis. Her commitment to a collaborative, regional approach to tourism is strong as is her policy of always referring Hills of Headwaters members to her customers and colleagues.

Kelly's roster of achievements on behalf of regional tourism is staggering:

  • A long standing role on the Tourism Association's Board of Directors, since 1999
  • Chair of the Tourism Association's Marketing Committee, since 2001
  • Chair of the award winning Hills of Headwaters Visitor Guides project, since 2002
  • Chair of the award winning Headwaters Golf Trail, since 2005
  • Represents the Hills of Headwaters on committees of the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership

Not only is it a great achievement to receive the award of Tourism Ambassador of Year, but Kelly has earned it with such distinction it will be a difficult achievement for those who are her successors.

Each weekend, the Credit Valley Explorer provides hundreds of passengers with a picture window view of our region's spectacular landscape allowing them restful inspiration while they sit and enjoy a fine meal supplied by David's Restaurant in Erin. Passenger feedback is unanimous: any season is a great time to ride the rails.

Set amongst beautifully tended gardens where many a bride and groom have posed with keepsake photos of loved ones, Mrs. Mitchell's has Colonial Williamsburg flair. Celebrating the spirit of Christmas Yuletide around the open fireplace is an annual pilgrimage for many loyal regular diners.
