The Mandalay Story
 AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY, the old Mandalay Box and Twine Company was commissioned by the British to relocate a portion of the British East Indian Army from Calcutta to Mandalay. A journey of this kind could take two to four months, and required extensive planning to ensure the safe transport of the regiment. Having successfully moved the officers' personal belongings over thousands of miles of difficult terrain, the name "Mandalay Box" in particular became associated with service and quality of the highest order.
