Breeders' Parade of Horses - Main Street, Erin
Saturday, September 24th - 5pm to 6pm

Join us for the grand opening of Destination Equitation and see over 200 horses, of all breeds and sizes, parading along the Main Street of Erin, one of Ontario's most charming century villages. Parade will be broadcast live on Erin Radio.

The Hills of Headwaters region is one of the most spectacular and picturesque regions of Ontario, especially during the fall colour season.  This year, get in your car and take part in Destination Equitation, the only event of its kind in the entire province of Ontario, all set amidst the backdrop of charming heritage villages, and a spectacular blaze of stunning fall colours.

Equine Family Evening at the Erin Fairgrounds
Saturday, September 24th - 6pm to 11pm

A great evening of fun & entertainment for the entire family. After the Breeders' Parade of Horses, head to the Erin Fairgrounds for a chance to get an up-close-and-personal with all of the horses.

FAMILY BBQ - 6pm to 7:30pm
Treat yourself for an old-fashioned family BBQ, prepared by the teams from What's Cookin' & Howard the Butcher.

THE SQUARE DANCING TRACTORS

The Team Farmall square dance draws a crowd of curious spectators, wanting to see for themselves that tractors really can dance. When performing, boys will be boys - the bigger the smash - the bigger the smile! The square dance, comprised of traditional calls that all square dance enthusiasts recognize, is combined with precision driving.

DRIVE-IN MOVIE:
SCREENING OF WALT DISNEY'S "SECRETARIAT" - 8:30 PM

Behind every legend lies an impossible dream. Witness the spectacular journey of an incredible horse named Secretariat and the moving story of his unlikely owner, a housewife who risked everything to make him a champion. Diane Lane and John Malkovich lead a celebrated cast in this inspirational motion picture.

A great opportunity to check out some of the areas public stables, where visitors can learn to ride, take riding lessons, participate in camps, or board and train your own horse. Stop by to see the horses, find out about the services offered, and perhaps book yourself a riding lesson or trail ride for your next visit to the area. A boutique trade fair will continue the 'Vanner Passion' with specialty vendors and artisans selling lifestyle and equine crafts and wares, while breeders and 'newbie' owners regale visitors with personal anecdotes about their life with a Gypsy Vanner.

Hospitality areas, wine sampling, delectable food concessions and a robust wine and beer garden with strolling entertainment complete the festive atmosphere which defines Vanner Fair. An evening of music and performance featuring the legendary music of Patsy Cline. Join us for this intimate evening under the stars. The evening will include food samplings with some of the area s finest beers and wines.

Legendary singer Patsy Cline was born on September 8th, 1932 and died on March 5th, 1963 in a plane crash that went down in a snowstorm near the hills of Camden, Tennessee.

At the time of her passing she was only 30 years old, but she had packed a lot of living into those few years and had accomplished a tremendous amount in the mere 6 years since she’d had her first hit record. She left behind a legacy of music that will live on long after we are all gone. Friends describe Patsy as a woman whose heart was as big and as warm as her God given voice.

This annual forging contest features competitors from across Canada vying for prizes in three classes:

A unique opportunity to see the craftsmanship of one of the world’s oldest professions, bending steel over anvils heated by coke fires of over 3800degrees F. .Featuring World Championship Blacksmith Competition judge, Dick Becker, CJF.  An amazing spectator opportunity!
