Spring is all about renewal here in the Hills of Headwaters! Our rivers are flowing and fishing season is just around the corner. Many golf courses are already open and the local farmers' markets will soon follow.
You can find inspiration for updating your home with a visit to a local art studio, home décor shop or garden centre. Makeovers of a more personal nature are available at one of the region’s unique spas or fashion boutiques.
Treat yourself and someone special to a dramatic theatrical or musical performance or a quiet brunch.

It’s Earth Month – go green with fresh herbs!

Town of Erin Home and Lifestyle Show
May 2, 2009 10am to 4pm - Centre 2000 Arena
The Town of Erin 5th Annual Spring Home & Lifestyle Show takes place May 2nd & businesses are coming out in force to showcase the variety of goods & services available in the community.
Visitors will find products & services in areas such as home heating, roofing, basement finishing, clothing, cleaning products & food, a wide range of art & self-pampering services all available from local producers, suppliers & manufacturers.
The show is a sellout with more than 100 booths showcasing items for every taste & budget, most of which can't be found at other home shows. Visitors will be delighted to discover the wide range of unique & interesting items that are available from many local area businesses.

Spring Garden Lunch and Silent Auction – Sunday April 19, 2009
Guests will enjoy a delicious lunch catered by The White Truffle Restaurant, bid on numerous great items displayed at silent auction tables. And, enjoy a fun presentation from Sonia Day – gardener and writer with Canadian Gardening Magazine. Held at Monora Park Pavilion, background music is courtesy of Harmonious Creations. Each guest will receive a $25 gift certificate from The Bevelled Edge Gallery.
The proceeds from this very important fundraising event will go towards the care of the stray, abandoned and neglected animals that we give a temporary home to. Our fund raising events and donations ensure that we provide the best care to animals at the shelter and allow us to support the cruelty investigations and emergency services throughout Dufferin County.

Starring alongside Avery Saltzman is Actra, Dora and Gemini Award Winner - Lally Cadeau. Ms. Cadeau also starred on the Stratford Festival stage for 9 years, and is also well-known for the seven years she starred as Janet King in Television's Road to Avonlea. Completing the incredible cast are; Susie Burnett who was sensational in the role of Jan in Theatre Orangeville's February Production I'll Be Back Before Midnight, David Rosser star of Theatre Orangeville's Dads: The Musical and Kringle's Window and Orangeville Music Theatre's Elizabeth Glenday.

Walk-a-thon to support the Orangeville and District Branch
Sunday May 3, 2009
The Ontario SPCA Orangeville and District Branch invites you to show your support for our fabulous furry friends while having a good time at our 2009 Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk-a-thon, being held Sunday, May 3, at the Alder Street Recreation Centre. Put your best paws forward and have fun walking the 5km route on the Orangeville Trailways.
The Walk-a-thon will include Tim Hortons coffee at registration, Toppers Pizza lunch. After the walk there will be pet nail clipping for a $5.00 donation, pet portraits by photographer Paul George for a donation of $15.00, the fun dog contests with prizes awarded to the winners. Please help the animals in our community by joining us at the Orangeville and District Branch 2007 Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk-a-thon. As the final remnants of winter disappear we look forward to a tradition that makes the Downtown Orangeville area special... "Market on Broadway" farmers' market opening May 9th 8am-1pm.
Located in the heart of the downtown just outside Orangeville's Town Hall, support your local farmers/producers and shop the MOB (Market on Broadway).
