The Hills of Headwaters, a 4000 square kilometre region of scenic countryside, is the heart of one of the most concentrated equestrian areas in the province of Ontario.

Many would argue that the best way to experience the scenic countryside of the region is, in fact, on horseback. A quiet ride in the countryside provides immense pleasure and the rolling hills and valleys in the Hills of Headwaters are the perfect backdrop for enjoying the companionship of a horse and the exhilaration of a morning trail ride.

Equine activity is intrinsic to the very fabric of our local communities in the Hills of Headwaters. It is here you will find some of the country’s premiere breeding farms, coaching and training facilities, riding schools, boarding stables, ranches, suppliers (including farriers, veterinarians, feed, bedding & tack shops), and special events.

Escape the city for a unique getaway in the Hills of Headwaters. Bring your own horse and enjoy our trails, experience first-hand a working cattle ranch, take in one of our many equestrian shows throughout the season, or see what all the fuss is about with an introductory lesson at one of our many fine riding schools.

Anytime of year equestrians can experience the best nature has to offer and all things equine, in the Hills of Headwaters.
