Two lucky winners were each awarded a Grand Prize of an overnight stay for two including a three-course dinner and breakfast for their entries of 'Headwater' and 'Headwater's', slight variations of the final name chosen.

Accepting the award in person was a very delighted Ms. Dana Sinclair of Belfountain, Ontario. A second winner, Karl Terry, of Airdrie, Alberta, was unable to attend the reception, but was notified of his winning entry today. Twenty of the top finalists in the recent contest were invited to attend Thursday's reception, along with local dignitaries, business partners and contest sponsors Caledon Living and Orangeville Living magazines.

The 'Name the Millcroft Restaurant' contest was promoted in the winter issues of Caledon Living and Orangeville Living with entries being collected on their websites www.caledonliving.com and www.orangevilleliving.ca. The Millcroft Spa, Centre for Well-Being Voted Top Detox Spa in Canada

VILLAGE OF ALTON – CALEDON – The Hills of Headwaters region is renowned as a destination for those seeking beautiful scenery, fine dining, championship golf, and historic charm. Now, for the first time, it can also boast that it is home to the top Spa Detox program in Canada.

In January, 2008, The Millcroft Inn & Spa took a large step toward its goal to position itself as a wellness destination when it launched a Four-Day Naturopathic Detox Getaway. This package was developed via a partnership between The Millcroft Inn & Spa and Orangeville-based Dr. Wendy Davis, N.D. of Harmony Health Naturopathic Clinic. It's purpose is to help people who are motivated to take control of their health by providing an assessment of their current state of wellness – which is determined by Dr. Davis – and then educating them on how to make short-term and long-term improvements to their well being.

The getaway includes private pre and post-program consultations with Dr. Davis (to assess current health status and measure improvement throughout the program), a customized itinerary of detoxifying spa treatments and activities – based on one's particular health status, a daily menu of detoxifying gourmet meals and snacks, and four (4) restful nights of accommodation. The meals and the Spa treatments are specially selected to 'kick-start' the body's natural toxin-ridding abilities, while relaxing the body and mind – thereby lowering stress levels.

Guests who participate in this program also receive a personalized binder that includes a daily itinerary, a list of benefits of various spa treatments, recipes and other information to help guide him/her down the path to better health after the program is complete.

Due to the fact that this program was developed with and is supervised by a medical professional (and that it is customized to individual needs, includes detoxifying gourmet cuisine and places a strong emphasis on educating participants on how to improve their health) it is the first and only detox program of its kind in Ontario – and one of a select few available in Canada.

On April 10, 2008 Anne Dimon, an internationally respected travel journalist and founder of e-magazine: Travel to Wellness, announced her 2008 list of Best Spas in Canada. The list covers 24 separate categories and The Millcroft Inn & Spa was voted tops in the "Best Detox Program" category (a new category for 2008), and received an honourable mention in the "Best for Romance" category.

Also, on Thursday, March 27, 2008 The Millcroft Inn & Spa was issued the prestigious AAA/CAA Four Diamond Award for the 20th consecutive year for lodgings, and the 13th consecutive year for dining – a feat largely unmatched throughout North America.

Aside from its celebrated Spa, cuisine and accommodations, the Millcroft Inn & Spa also boasts a conference centre and is a popular destination for weddings and golf getaways year round.

To inquire about the Four Day Naturopathic Detox Getaway various services and amenities offered by The Millcroft Inn & Spa, please call 1-800-383-3976 Toll Free or (519) 941-8111, or email millcroft@millcroft.com. Information is also available online at http://www.millcroft.com/.

The Millcroft launches Ontario's first and only Naturopathic Detox Getaway

Medically-supervised detox getaways are now available in Ontario, courtesy of The Millcroft Inn & Spa in the Village of Alton – Caledon and Harmony Health Naturopathic Clinic in Orangeville.

The Millcroft Four-Day Naturopathic Detox Getaway, which was developed via a partnership between The Millcroft Inn & Spa and Orangeville-based Dr. Wendy Davis, N.D. of Harmony Health Naturopathic Clinic, is the first and only detox program of its kind in Ontario - and one of a small few in Canada.

This getaway and program is intended specifically for people who are motivated to take control of their well being, and who are interested in learning how to live a healthier lifestyle. The programming includes tried and tested tactics that facilitate the body's natural ability to rid itself of environmental and chemical toxins – which are the leading causes of the majority of modern-day ailments.

The Millcroft Four-Day Naturopathic Detox Getaway effectively marries the features for which The Millcroft Inn & Spa is renowned ( i.e. beautiful and serene settings, award-winning 'Four Diamond' gourmet cuisine, and The Millcroft Spa, Centre for Well-Being's industry-leading facilities and quality of service), to the expert application of Naturopathic assessment and treatment techniques by Dr. Wendy Davis. This combination of resources makes it a powerfully effective, yet relaxing, enjoyable and educational wellness-boosting experience that cannot be found elsewhere.

The detox programming included in this getaway is ideal for people fighting aliments such as allergies, skin disorders, arthritis, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Also, anyone who has undergone long-term chemical therapies, such as Chemotherapy, can benefit greatly from this program.

Those who choose to experience this unique wellness getaway will receive the following:

- a customised four-day Naturopathic wellness program including: detoxifying physical activities, spa treatments and a sumptuous "Gourmet Detox Menu" of meals designed to treat your palate while promoting detoxification

- four nights of accommodation (Sunday arrival, Thursday departure ONLY)

- a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Wendy Davis, N.D. to review health history forms and preview the program of activities and treatments being prescribed

- a private follow-up consultation with Dr. Davis at the end of the program

- and a binder of educational and instructional information (including recipes for detoxifying meals) to help one continue down the road to wellness after the program is complete

Once an assessment of one's particular health history and current state of health is complete, Dr. Davis determines the programming one is to receive throughout his/her stay. During the initial and follow-up consultations a small sequence of non-invasive tests are completed to measure changes to one's state of well-being resulting from the detox program and to help guide nutritional and lifestyle recommendations for each participant to follow after the program is complete.

Pricing for this special getaway starts from $550 per person, per day (plus taxes and gratuities). To ensure participants receive only the highest level of service and personal attention during this getaway experience, availability will be limited to a maximum of four (4) participants per week.

For more information on the Millcroft Four-Day Naturopathic Detox Getaway visit the Rates & Great Escapes page at http://www.millcroft.com/.

It is also the latest in a series of recently introduced innovations developed and offered by The Millcroft, which include; body scrubs and wraps featuring numerous organic products such as strawberry, lavender, mandarin orange, pumpkin and coconut, and Canada's first and only Beer-based spa treatments.

The Millcroft has long been a hub of economic activity for the region in which it resides. In 1978 The Millcroft received the National Heritage award of Honour for Heritage Preservation from Heritage Canada.

In March of 2008, The Millcroft was issued the prestigious AAA/CAA Four Diamond Award for the 20th consecutive year for lodgings, and the 13th consecutive year for dining – a feat largely unmatched throughout North America – making it one of only a handful of establishments in Ontario to be recognized for the quality of both its accommodations and dining facilities and services at this level.

The Millcroft is also a member of Ontario's Finest Inns and Spas – an independent association dedicated to developing and promoting the finest Inns and destination Spas on Ontario. During the summer of 2007 The Millcroft was assessed in a random Ontario's Finest Inns & Spas Quality Assurance review for the level of service and quality of the amenities offered and received scores of 91% for the Inn and 95% for the Spa.

The Millcroft Inn & Spa also boasts a Conference Centre, featuring high-speed wireless Internet access, photocopy and fax services, and is a popular destination for weddings and golf getaways year round.
