Knox Presbyterian Church, Hamlet of Dunedin

Knox Presbyterian Church sits on the edge of the Noisy river in the charming hamlet of Dunedin, just west of Creemore, about 20 minutes south of Collingwood.  Surrounded by walking trails, ski hills, conservation areas, and rich farm land, it is blessed on every side by nature's bounty and beauty.

The community of faith who call Knox their home was originally established in 1868.  The current building was built in 1910, a simple structure in the Scottish tradition, with beautiful vaulted ceilings inside, and the traditional leaded windows and pews of the time.  Surrounded by an acre of parkland, it is a beautiful setting for the summer events for which the church is known, as well as weddings and community gatherings of all kinds.  The congregation is anxious to share their lovely location, and picnic benches are left for those who wish to stop and rest in this tranquil spot.

Two years ago the church called Rev. Candice Bist as their minister, a great act of faith in times when small rural churches appear to be closing all too regularly.  Rev. Bist brings a Christian message that is accessible, inclusive, and desirous of wholeness and peace for all of humanity.

Traditional services are at 10 am on Sundays.   Bruce Ley, founder and piano player of a popular jazz trio, lead the music on Sunday mornings.  It is a treat just to hear his jazz stylings of the standard hymns.

Knox Presbyterian Church offers a humble place of hospitality to all those who seek to live a life of peace, joy, compassion and grace and either finds this place in the Christian teachings, or would like to explore the possibilities these teachings offer.  Join us on Sunday mornings for a time of gentle companionship where questions can be asked, and wonderings can be wondered.  May grace abide on your journey.
