The Alton Mill is located in the village of Alton, five minutes south of Orangeville, and twenty minutes north of Brampton. Take Highway 10 to Regional Road 24 (formerly Hwy. 24) at Caledon Village. West on Regional Road 24 for 5 kilometres to Peel Regional Road 136 (Main Street). North on Regional Road 136 into the Village of Alton. West (left) on Queen Street and North (right) onto Amelia St. Look for the Historic Alton Mill signs en route.


Headwaters Arts is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, membership organization that serves as an umbrella multi-discipline arts organization for the Headwaters region.  Our mandate is to bring together artists and supporters to promote the development, appreciation and enjoyment of all arts in the Hills of Headwaters.

The Hills of Headwaters includes Halton/Peel, Dufferin and Wellington counties, the towns of Caledon, Orangeville, and Erin and surrounding areas northwest of Toronto.

 

Objectives:  We fulfill our mission by…

-   Seeking to provide artists of all ages and at all stages of their career with greater exposure, recognition, sales, networking opportunities and professional development

-   Creating opportunities for the community-at-large to enjoy and participate in the arts

-   Nurturing the next generation of artists and art lovers

-   Engaging in collaborative marketing efforts to promote – within and outside our community – all forms of art produced in the Hills of Headwaters

-   Mounting an annual Headwaters Arts Festival

Since 1996, the Headwaters Arts Festival (HAF) has been enriching the cultural and economic life of the Headwaters region by promoting art of all disciplines.  The Festival fosters interaction between artists and the community and it identifies this region as a centre of artistic excellence.


This premiere event runs over three weekends during the fall colours tourism season: September 24 until October 11, 2010.


The 2010 Headwaters Arts Festival includes a Juried Art Show & Sale featuring 37 local and 5 invited artists, an Author’s Night, an Opening Night Gala, open studios, concerts, dance, Kids’ Fest events and much more.
