This historic building that originally functioned as the Public Market, Town Hall and Opera House, is once again a focal point for the commercial, political, and cultural life of Orangeville. The four year - $4.8 million - Town Hall restoration project, completed in 1994, included the re-development of the Town’s Opera House and the introduction of professional theatre in Orangeville.
It has brought with it a renewed interest in the Town’s core - an increase in downtown business activity and the initiation of other restoration programs and development projects in the downtown. It has strengthened the identity of the Town and renewed interest in its history, while creating a sense of pride throughout the community.
