Lampwork or torchwork beads are handmade glass beads created in a 2000F flame by melting colourful rods of glass, shaping them, decorating them and then popping them into a kiln to cool slowly (annealing). For more information on the process click here

Specialty Gift Items
The lampwork beads are used in specialy gift items such as wine stoppers, bookmarks, magnifying glasses, pens and letter openers, serving spoons, key rings and pate knives and forks. Just arrived are cheese knives and a wonderful salad serving set. The salad servers would make an amazing wedding gift when paired with a hand-crafted pottery or wooden bowl from DRAGONFLY!
Sterling Silver Jewellery
The handmade beads are also use to create sparkling sterling silver bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
Bead Collections
Favourites include Northern Lights, Echo Beach, Gold Rush, Fireweed, Arctic Blues, Tropical Storm and Spring Fever. Joan and I created a signature 'Beads on Broadway' bead collection for spring and held a 'Name the Bead' contest to celebrate our second anniversary. The winning entry was Ocean Kiss, a deep tropical blue, green and turquoise combination. New for the summer is the Summer Splash collection. a series of transparent pastel beads with white dots which are light and airy and sure to refresh a hot summer day.
